funbags

Just to correct you so that you don't confuse others with your comment that the current industrial laws can't be overturned because the ALP won't control the Senate.
Whether the ALP would or would not control the senate remains to be seen..... all it takes is 1 senate loss at the next election from the coalition side of politics for the LIB/NAT coalition to lose control of the senate. The ALP does not need an absolute majority in its own right in the senate to implement laws or to reverse laws. All it needs is there to be a majority ..... with its own senators and other like minded partioes eg. the greens and democrats.
That is the first point.
The second point is thatif the ALP wins the next election, and even if the current senate majority of the coalition was to remain, there is NO WAY IN HELL THAT IN THOSE CIRCUMSTANCES THAT AN ALP GOVERNMENT WOULD HAVE ITS INDUSTRIAL AGENDA BLOCKED BY A HOSTILE SENATE.
That is because, the coalition senators would understand very clearly that the ALP had just won an election based on the industrial laws and it would be a very foolhardy liberal/ national group in the senate (if they still had a majority) that would be stupid enough to attempt to block a labor government's laws overturning the current industrial laws.
If they(LIB/NATT senators) were stupid enough to block amending laws, a NEW ALP GOVERNMENT WOULD SIMPLY USE THE DOUBLE DISSOLUTION PROVISIONS OF THE CONSTITUTION to threaten an election for the full senate anbd the house of representatives . At that point there would not be any further resistance from a hostile senate .
I hope that helps to clear matters up funbags.
