Planning a trip to NZ : LHR - Hong Kong - Auckland - San Francisco - LHR and will be flying Virgin Atlantic and Air New Zealand. Can anyone advise about security concerns for needlework equipment in carry-on luggage and use in the cabin (economy) for these airports and carriers.
Specifically my wife would like to carry :
- small metal sewing needles for cross-stich
- knitting needles (plastic is suspect might be easiest)
- crochet hooks (again plastic unless metal are specifically allowed)
- a special pendant thread cutter where there is no exposed blade rather than scissors
