I think you will find that PPRuNe advertising is there just to cover costs of running the site. I would be very very surprised if Danny etc. were making any money out of this site.
PPRuNe is run by people who volunteer their time and effort and provide the service at no charge to it’s users. As someone said in an earlier debate, it’s their sandcastle so they are entitled to run it how they choose.
If you are really that annoyed, go to another flying related Bulletin Board, or create your own and run it how you choose.
