Saw chips a few years ago at Shawbury while he was doing his resettlement course in woodwork. He got sent out of the bar every night for wearing jeans with holes in!. I believe he did go to live in France after that. Never forget his comment at breakfast in Gut when, after a heavy night in the bar, a WAAF officer asked him how his head was.
