Logical progression. Was expected as soon as DGCA permitted expat F/Os to fly ATRs. Now field is open to all expat F/Os to fly in India on any type they are rated on. Are there no CPL freshers in India who can be inducted as Trainees and progress to F/Os?
Or is it that India is just not producing CPL holders to match the growth rate of airlines? In the long run if airlines in India do not open ab-initio training academies and induct cadet pilots they will suffer losses and their bottom lines will be affected badly.
