Hey Frankie ,
Is this Lib party that "has got it in for them" , as you put it ,the same as the one that did your company a huge favour yesterday by denying SQ the rights to trans Pacific flying?
I can tell you that as a casualty of Paul Keating's "recession we had to have" after he used higher interest rates as a lever to slow the economy and subsequently saw interest rates go from 10% to 17.5% , putting the economy into a tailspin , anything that the Libs could do pales into insignificance.
I was almost forced to sell my home when my wife was made redundant from her part time job, but no one could have afforded to borrow the money to buy it. Many of my friends lost their jobs as their employers struggled to keep afloat and had to sell their homes at a loss because they couldn't pay their mortgage . My father who had been in business for 30 years found things to hard to cope with and folded his business putting 12 full time employees and many contractors out of work.
I guess his heart attack a few months later had nothing to do with it. It broke his heart!
Give me a few labour reforms over the above lot any day. Labour might be strong on social policy and the Libs as mean as anything , but the libs know how to run an economy.
From one who remembers and may someday forgive.
