Gents, just before you go off trying to park your aircraft in any active military hangar, there may be a few more hoops to jump through. Firstly I believe you have to have permission of the establishment CO. Secondly you do need to ensure you have the correct insurance cover and Thirdly (and this one is the real crippler) it may no longer be true that we have this "perk". I understand that under the wider commercialisation of the RAF you now have to pay the MOD for the privilege of hangaring your aircraft. Sadly I believe that this perk is due to some idiot beancounter deciding that as you would have to pay to hangar your aircraft somewhere you should pay the MOD to hangar it on base!! Complete w
s, cost of everything value of nothing!! One wonders whether the MOD now charge army personnel for the privilege of stabling their horse(s)??
