It’s good to see the FAAA fast response team is still in place but it is a pity that they only respond that well to criticism.
Pegasus tells us that MM has indeed spoken of his underlings from his throne and wants to have meetings regarding our future ,it is a pity though that we have to take Pegasus’s word as MM has not put out any newsletter to that fact.
“ FAAA spends considerable resources in terms of meetings and newsletters etc to inform the L/H membership about all the issues that confront us...unlike any other Qantas union.”
Guardian when was the last meeting you held apart from the JFK issue where you held a couple of them and when exactly are the next ones ???????? I’m talking of general meetings where more than 20 people can turn up not the ones at the rowers club for you guys to have a pims or a G&T.
Now, If someone has the temerity to criticize or suggest an alternative to the faaa and it’s strategy department ,you are being accused of being nonsensical, hysterical and suffering from substance abuse.
After reading your response guardian I’m not so sure that you are not hysterical.
Led on the issue of the JFK dispensation, to protect crew from being compulsorily made redundant.
You are now telling us that if we did not vote YES to the JFK dispensation that we would have been made compulsorily redundant. Now I don’t know what substance you guys in the office are partaking of but it is extremely heavy duty…
Guardian, you have said that no matter what efforts the faaa goes to inform it’s members people like myself never understand or get it…
Show me the newsletter from the faaa that tells us of the meetings to discuss any proposed or potential ideas to put forward to the company for our next EBA…or are we supposed to be telepathic and know that there is a copy in the union office just as there is a top secret copy of the fatigue report there as well.
As far as the JFK vote is concerned I had always thought that the idea was to safeguard Australian positions on that flight which by the way has not happened. The cost savings were never there as I pointed out before the vote, the cost of overtime etc...For the crew basically wiped out any savings made from not slipping in New York…
At no stage have I seen any newsletter or statement from the company regarding the move by cabin crew to help the profitability of QF by granting dispensation. We basically gave in to blackmail when we voted YES……thanks guys; you really had a winner on that one.
You also say that you have established a closer relationship with the S/H Faaa…does that mean that you are talking to each other now because as cartexchange has said the S/H EBA does not look like they are close to you guys at all…
My idea with my post is to suggest that we hold a series of meetings to discuss any ideas to be used at the next EBA negotiations. However, all we got in return was the same abuse and empty rhetoric from the same people all over again.
