The picture of the Euravia Connies could have been taken as early as 1962. They took delivery of three ex El Al machines early in that year (G-ARVP was the first on 12th April followed by G-AHEN at the end of April and G-ARXE in May) all in Euravia colours, although G-ARXE was painted into Skyways colours in October 1962. The three ex Skyways machines (G-ALAK, G-ALAL & G-ANUR) acquired in October 1962 remained in Skyways colours (G-ANUR was painted into Euravia colours early in 1964).
Hello, this is my first contribution to PPRUNE even though I have been an avid reader (of anything to do with Luton Airport !) for some time but I couldnt resist a reply on this thread.
I have a very large (and concise) database on all things to do with aircraft movements, based aircraft and airlines and the airport itself from 1937 until 1999 (as my title of Luton Anorak suggests it's a bit of a hobby
).
