speedbird, well said.
Unfortunately the majority of us are currently getting screwed by the seniority bid system, with no choice of destinations, buddy flying or the ability to choose a date to do a trip or attempting to bid for specific days off. We (the majority) have to wait 25 years or more for that privilege.
For those affected we have nothing to lose as we are currently getting NOTHING. but as wed webbing says if you dont like it leave. Not likely wed, try this, if we dont like it a challenge to seniority in court might occur and we'll all be equal, and then if you dont like the system then wed as you said " you can leave".
Maybe its long overdue that the FAAA and the company get their heads together to see what flight attendants think about the system then maybe make some changes that will be equal for ALL.
Who knows the Company may create a system that has no D days and improves productivity and ALL of us may get something instead of NOTHING. Its long overdue. This system came into being in 1988, and the changes that have taken place since 1988 with flying as we know it today has created a system that penalises 80% of the workers for the benefit of 20% (maybe less). Its an embarrassment that any workforce has such a discriminatory system in this day and age. As stated earlier it was forced upon us. Back in 1988 the majority of Long Haul crew DID NOT vote for it.
