Why don't NJS consider the mods that AN carried out? They were pretty effective, as well as the shift from Mobil Jet 1 to Mobil 291 (or 293 or whatever it was called). A very rare occurence after the mod, as long as carbon filters were replaced when required.
And yes, I know the smell very well, fortunately that's all it ever was to me. Like some other bad smells I've experienced in life, it can make you feel pretty crook if it's strong enough!
Also curious as to why you could sit there paxing on a different manufacturers aircraft, smelling the same thing, which is VERY distinctive, and there were never any complaints from those crew.
(Pls spare me the "Oh it must have been ingested avtur fumes" or such, there is a HUGE difference to any nose!)
