While a few Captain's might be trying to score 'ugly' points. Try to think that they are really trying to help you. Do you really know SOP's and company policies? In my experience it does take time to get everything logged in the brain box and a little info here and there as an instance/incident occurs is worth more than a tad.
As for FO's they must be certain that they do not give the impression that THEY know it all, for an experienced Captain will surely find you out!
