To respond to you Lowerlobe...i'll have a go and explaining the difference with the new EBA proposal.

The whole 2nd snr thing is that currently on the day the most senior F/A on the crew runs the economy service (a very basic CSS). But hey, on a CBR return you hardly need a qualified 2nd Snr! It seems like now you'll have to apply to become the "Team Leader". I can bet you that there will be loads of flights that wont end up have a qualified team leader and subsequently just go back to the old 2nd snr way. And they get a slight pay rise.

The FWA dumping. So if your a F/A and want to dump a duty you used to be only be able to dump if someone picked up your duty. Now they are saying that if you dump it's a guarantee it's gone. (Presume it's picked up by MAM Casuals). If your a CSM its still the old ways of hoping someone will take your dumped duty or straight back to ya.

Crew Meals. We will only get a breakfast, lunch and dinner crew meal loaded at 80%. So, you do a MEL 4leg day - 10hrs20min for example. Your sign on is during a breakfast service. On a big aircraft 2 of the crew wont get to eat a crew meal - lets hope there's a pax meal left (sometimes 0 meals left). Presume no crew meals. Then next leg is morning tea - no crew meals/snacks loaded as per new EBA. Next leg could be at 1330, after the lunch service has ended - no crew meals loaded and then your last leg is also afternoon tea (flies before 1800hrs) so no meal loaded again.
You would get an hr or so on the ground with possibly an aircraft change to go and grab something. So 20% of the crew have to buy their lunch. As a CSM how do i decide who needs to eat moreso than someone else. Senority? Waist size? etc....

Back of the clock duties. As far as i know i thought for roster builds it was always 4 horrors you were limited to. Maybe it used to be 5. Not a big deal though.

Sick Leave. We have lost our 6 free URTI's without a med cert. Gotta give crewing 3hrs instead of 2hrs notice now.

28day roster - currently we have a monthly roster. Either 30 or 31 days.

Return to L/Haul option. What a load of crap. They wanted 50 s/h guys to transfer to l/h this month. They didnt even get 50 when there was well over 200 on the list. If anyone wanted to go back they would have gone.

CSM Promotion. Since when has promotion been part of the EBA? Simply they need more CSM's. SYD base have lost 19 CSM's in just under 12months. Some bid down to F/A, LHR base, Longhaul transfer. Why make it part of an EBA when is just a requirement to crew the aircraft and they can stop sending out flights without CSM's. They can also stop drafting on days off, drafting off the PER and DRW horrors to go and do 2 more legs etc.

I think the rest of the items on the list is fairly self explainitary. If not then let me know and i'll see if i can shed some light on it. I have to say that the whole EBA is abit of a non-event. Everyone, both us in S/H and you guys in L/H, were expecting some huge things. There is no talk about regional/international flying which is a big surprise. The crew meals will piss off some people, URTI's may upset some but overall i think it's a pretty soft EBA.

Unless.... there is more to come!
