The stories are only half true.
Some of the 38 did not apply to be part of the new company (they wanted redundancy), not sure of the numbers, some had resigened (they accepted other jobs before they were able to take redundancy as the package was initially not available to A320 crews), again not sure of the numbers. I know of 7 that were not chosen even though they applied.
There may be more but the 7 are the only names that I have heard of that where rejected outright.
