I don't know which charter airline you work for, but the 3 that I have experience with ALL had around 50% of their market flying to mainland Spain and the Balaeric Islands. This market has taken the biggest hit from the lo-cost carriers as it is right in their territory. So you may be right in saying that it is not to compete commercially
directly, but I would argue that it is, at least
partly.
