I flew with CX for 33 years, all our aircraft were maintained locally by engineers who in the majority were Chinese. Shortly before my retirement, Cathay set up a maintanance base in Xiamen China where Chinese maintenace engineers continue to do a sterling job during heavy maintenance and letter checks for a lot of foreign jurisdiction airlines from many parts of the world. Do you really think Australian LAMEs are the only ones in the world who know what they are doing?
