Update:
The signature lists now contain over 13,000 names in support of Niederrhein Airport, both in electronic and paper format. Also political pressure is finally increasing in support of the airport, surprisingly through
all political parties.
Compare that to the 18 persons who have sued against the airport certification (and won)... It seems democracy is not a democratic process...
Anyway, thanks to everyone who showed support for this nice little airport!
We're currently at about 600 movements per month, with about half of that being Ryanair and the rest general aviation. Flight operation continues as the court order is not in effect yet. Should it come in effect one option is to get a preliminary airport certification until a new water-tight certification is sorted out. We"re talking about
years in certification!
At the moment no future routes from here are in sight. Seems no-one's interested in investing with the very unclear legal situation looming overhead...
