After the AN collapse in September 2001, KD NSC was ghosting the operation while the outports physically ran the ports (eg, making all operational decisions and solving all crewing issues etc).. .. .This procedure was put in place by senior management as they had lost faith in the current structure of the NSC and the poor management of the centre. . .. .I hope for KD’s sake that further staff movements do not occur, as the center will become more vulnerable than it is at present and the NSC may eventually end up back at the ports!. .. .However if KD becomes aligned with
VB, I concur with the abovementioned comments that rationalisation may occur as it makes common sense to save dollars where it can be done.
