Re: RN application-Pilot/Obs

The base pass mark for pilot aptitude is 112. You will find that the scores that make a candidate competitive for selection depend on the state of recruitment at the time. If you have large numbers of people applying for relatively few places you will find that you may need a score of 140+ to be selected. Conversely if there a few people applying for a larger number of places you will find that they may be selected on a lower score say below 120. The problem with this is that if you select the latter group of people they are likely to become training risks or possibly even get chopped. If you do your aptitude tests with the RAF the Navy will just take these scores into account after converting them slightyl, rather than sending you again as you are normally only allowed two attempts. If your score is so poor that they indicate you are not fit to be in control of a moving vehicle it is unlikely that you will be invited to take the tests again.
