Zomp: last year - but that's just for the theory lessons... no flying, no exam fees, add another 300 Pounds for the books and material. All in all I paid: 20000 Dollar for collecting the hours in the US (170 single +10 Multi) (including housing, but you could get it for half the price, U are always more clever afterwards)
and about 22000 Euro here in Austria - for 30 hours procedure trainer, around 10 hours IFR (C172), 11 hours multi (in a Seneca), all the theory lessons, exams fees, airport fees, ... for CPL/IFR/frozen ATPL.
I know Europe's more expensive - but it got me job in the end
