I watched it and found it amusing but have to agree that there is a serious risk that the general public could well take it seriously when you consider the unfortunately low level of intelligence evident these days especially in aviation matters. (I know this will get me in trouble; so be it.)
The thing is that you need to be an aviator to appreciate that it is a send up, otherwise it is real, isn't it?

Actors!? Of course pilots are actors! I clearly recall that some wag had added to the top of the DC3 Initial Checklist scroll; about two yards long by the way so that it was binding so much that some force was needed to turn the knob.
