I would have thought that if the airline can secure slots out of Stansted, get charged no more than Luton and will be flying routes that are not already served from Essex then Luton will not get a look in.
If on the other hand Luton’s marketing team are on the ball and point out that Luton has the second biggest catchment area in the UK and that its passengers love the wartime spirit singing “We’ll meet again” when travelling the crowded bus to the railway station then there is a chance.
I heard this line might be working on a small French regional airline flying ATR42’s from deepest France so watch this space
