My advice, as above, is send it. Going to the the CAA will achieve nothing and it will only annoy you.
Why?
Well you'll see where all the money goes and why it costs so much to fly in the UK. Lots of people shuffling bits of paper around looking important - it's a mega-bureaucracy!!
You going there will not make it happen any faster.
