The first thing I noticed at Stansted was the sweeping dual carriageway right to the front of the terminal.
Don't blame LTN or LLAO - blame the DfT, Bedfordshire County Council and the 1970s time-warped Luton Borough Councillors and their so-called 'advisors'.
In contrast, BAA plc met half the cost of STN's M11 link road, with the DfT spending the tax-payers' money to cover the other half (an interesting use of public funds to the benefit of a private [airport] company in which one would have thought, the EU's Competition Commission might take an interest...) whilst of course, BAA and its subsidiary, STAL don't have to contend with the albatros of Luton Borough Council.
As to the terminal comparison, the relative costs were different and you can't get something for nothing. However, MoL seems quite satisfied with the less expensive 'budget' version at LTN.
And don't blame LTN or LLAO for not having any seating in Pier 'A' - it's all down to planning permission which you guessed it, sits with that 1970s albatross, Luton Borough Council.
