AN Management
I am curious about the references made on this forum to Ansett management, presumably from Ansett pilots.
I am interested to know if pilots are referring to the management level of messers Toomey and Farmer et al or a lower level such as flight operations. The dislike towards the former is understandable, as many years of senior management neglect have resulted in the obvious.
But if pilots are referring to the latter, then I am puzzled. I am no expert at the commercial aviation game but isnt the operations management level charged with the overseeing of the carriers air operators certificate, the employment of pilots, training of pilots and the checking of standards etc. With this in mind, exactly what blame should be directed towards your flight operations people. They surely did not send AN down the tubes, and the safety record at Ansett seems to speak volumes about these people.
