Parallel Runway Swings
I flew as a pax on LH into Frankfurt tonight and landed on 7L I think in an A300.
I am pretty sure we were lined up to land on 7R and then swung over to 7L about 3-5 miles from touchdown. I also noticed an aircraft departing on the cross-runway pretty close in front of us, which might well have caused the switch.
Met was good, so landing could have been visual.
Anyone know if this is standard practise at EDDF, or any other such airports??? And if a departing aircraft on the cross runway could have been the cause for the swing?
