Air 2000 have put us on 30 days consultation period for redundancies. They have not stated how many will go but the feeling is it will be well in excess of 100.
It has been stated that the government requires a minimum 30 day consultation period if 100 or less are to be laid off. With a minimum of 90 days consultaton if more than 100 are to go. If this is true things are going to be delayed at Air 2 bob.
The crew is getting demoralised and just want to be told whats happening. We are getting visits from management again and again and each time they tell us nothing they are just spending more money!
The rumours don't help, staff are feeling bad enough but when they think the company is trying to screw them they feel worse. Charter flying needs crew co-operation to succeed and the way we're going they won't get it.
