Gymble,
I am not ex military. I started where Neat12 is now in Aus GA. I stuck with it and believed in myself. I have worked for three companies in my carreer and never been out of a job. Each time somebody approached me to work for them. Each job was an improvement in pay and conditions. I did it with a young family. I have flown all over Australia and many places overseas. I am now a 10,000 hour heli pilot working overseas as twin engine, command instrument rated captain earning about Aus$130,000 tax free per year. Don't tell Neat12 it's not possible. I'm living proof you don't have to be ex-military to succeed, you just have to have the desire to follow your ambitions. It's tough at the beginning but sell yourself. It's who you know not always what you know.

Neat12
Stick with it. You will get out it what you are prepared to put in.
Good luck
