Yes...that's exactly why. That and the fact that they use industrial glue to keep that farkin' foil on.
Tip of the Day....
Tip the cup AWAY from the foil 'tongue' that you use to open it. That way, a pocket of air will rush out to meet the 6-8000ft cabin alt instead of a pocket of juice.
