Good Morning,

I too am happy at eJ. It's not perfect and a lot of things need sorting out - but that applies to ALL airlines. Yes you do work hard but it's not 4 sectors everyday as some would have you believe. I find my rosters to be split about 40% 2 sector 60% 4 sector. However some sectors are less than 60 minutes block time. I haven't had a change for over two weeks now (that's jinxed it!)

Every airline has its whingers and I agree with some of the whines But overall there are MUCH worse jobs out there. For many guys, the choice to move on is lifestyle. If I wasn't married with 2.4 kids and was 15 years younger I'd be looking at long haul too - but it doesn't suit me now. Having spoken to some guys who have come TO eJ from long haul you'll be just as knackered from jetlag on your days off as we can be after 5 earlies. And then once you've recovered you're off in the opposite direction round the globe ..... that can't be good long term, can it?

Commands. I appreciate DEC's are a contentious issue but the Command courses are starting in February with a view to clearing it by the end of next year - about 60-80 commands. If you want a Command eJ has to be one of the fastest places (relatively speaking) that you'll achieve it provided you're up to standard. I see guys leaving going to BA (shorthaul) and Monarch who are now looking at 10 years minimum to the LHS.

Overall, the crews are great, standards are high, the flying is varied and new routes are coming all the time. Yes we have our problems but hopefully these issues can be addressed with time.

There are a lot of people in eJ for the long term so it's in our interests to make it better - not just tolerable.

Fly safe.
