Donīt bother getting a Sennheiser with ANR since both of you will need to have both ear covered. You will be in your own world and propably donīt hear the Hostie bringing you a coffee.
Not true. First, the "open ear" model (HKA-45) of the Sennheiser allows you to hear normal conversation with the headset on. If the other pilot tends to mumble, you can move one earpiece back a bit and still get some benefit from the ANR. I'm using it in the 742, and it is MUCH better than the old Telex!
OTOH, if you can't remember to turn it off, should you be flying airplanes? Add it to your checklist!
