have I even missed something? Have bmi even announced that they will move an A330 to LHR from MAN??? Or are people just slating the airline over a rumour which someone has put - after all it is a "rumour network"!!!

If I started a rumour that Virgin were going to move their upper cabin to the rear of the aircraft as they think it is safer, and turn the seats round to face the tail of the aircraft - would people start having a go at them as it would be a crazy thing to do and will lose business traffic etc etc.

Let people have rumours, but people shouldn't start big attacks on an airline over what is still a rumour!!!

But even if they did, bmibabyfc has a good point - unlike other airlines who have shareholders, bmi (ignoring the LH/SK ownership part) is still the train set of Sir Michael Bishop who lives and breathes the airline - if he wants to set up long haul flights from Carlisle Airport then he will set the companies focus on that - remember his drive as Chairman isn't only financial but ambition!!!
