I'm interested in your comment about the FLIR HD system being deeper... Do you mean longer focal length of the lense? FYI both the competing HD systems available (FLIR HD and Cineflex V14) have the same lense - Fuji 42x (1140mm on the 2x). What type of mount do you use to put the FLIR HD on an AS350? and do you use an isolation mount?
HD gives the viewer the most un believable definition and depth of colours, if you have the cash to by an HD camera then a coupe more grand to get the viewing kit is not significant.
My understanding of the difference between the FLIR HD and the Cinelfex is that John Coyle (Cineflex) caters to your requirements; camera and lens options for different missions. ie Sony 930 for survellance/low light situations combined with the 42x Fuji or production/movie work he wil build you one with a Sony F950 and interchangeable lense package for a choice of wide angel to mid range lenses. I don't think FLIR give any options for the HD product.
I suppose it's the old David and Goliath deal... Start up Cineflex competes with the $2 billion company FLIR.
JerryG,
Interested in you comments about the Cineflex, what's the mission?? How long have you had the system and is John Coyle supporting the product (something I hear FLIR have problems with!!!)
