All this rhetoric and nationalistic fervour is somewhat misguided IMHO.
Just sit back for a short while and think about the position of flight crew, cabin crew, caterers, baggage handlers, maintenance staff,cleaners, cab drivers, motel owners, aircraft manufacturers and dare I say it airline managers in the current global sense.
Has anyone seen the reports for projections of our American cousins about to be laid off?
At what level do you think public confidence in air travel is running?
Check out the share prices of any aviation org. It's no longer just GA, it's no longer just Aust. or NZ. A global industry disater in numerous forms is upon us and all the majority of posters here can manage is petty and none too imaginative insults.
