Interesting observations.
Given the increase in available traffic why wouldn't they just ratchet up the types they use on the various routes.
Say B747 where B767 and B767 where B737 etc this would free up the B733s for regional routes and so on down the line.
The benefits to the remoter regions is that they would get better aircraft and more capable aircraft.
Everyone wins.
I have long held that the Oz market has never been big enough for more that 2 carriers to run efficiently.
And if we have to reregulate then why not?
