I have flown 6 sectors on SIA and have found them to be nothing flash. To be honest i don't know why everyone carries on about them, they're just as good as BA or QF.
I was also speaking to a senior Captain of a reputable airline not long ago and i asked him which airlines he would not fly with? His reply was JAT (Yugoslav Airlines) and Singapore Airlines. He said SIA have a very good press/advertising department, as they tend to have a lot of safety issues which would normally make the papers, but for some reason don't. He said he's seen things happen with SIA which would usually be in the media within minutes, but they never appear, so someone is doing their job right! I have no reason to doubt his word either, so............
