Weeeellllllll sportsfans. .. .It would appear I was right 12 months ago with the scenario of SQ allowing Ansett to fail by placing an underskilled NZ in control to drive it into the ground.. .. .They were well aware that it was not viable without cauterising the top 4 levels of management and now it seems they have succeeded.. .. .The airline itself was never the problem - great staff and terrific service. It was just managed into oblivion.. .. .News tonight was that SQ was interested in funding a full service competitor to QF - surprise surprise - NOT!!! The landing slots and assets can now be glommed at bargain basement prices.. .. .Thankfully they say they will be using ex Ansett staff. They would be dumb not to. . .. .They have cauterised the top 4 levels of management but destroyed countless lives in the process.. .. .I do hope they restart Ansett in whatever form but Clarry the blind miner can see what they have been doing.
