'L1011 is very old so why on earth with fuel at its present level would you want to operate a fuel guzzeler'
I seem to remember that the L-1011 burns 8 Tons/hour. Compared to the 747-200 at 12 tons/hour, that is not bad economy when it can carry 80% of the 747's pax load.
