So what if the aircraft was built to last 30 years. It may be mechanically "sound" but on the kind of utilisation you're looking at - how expensive?
And when something goes bang and you have to wait weeks for a part to be manufactured by Lockheed, will you continue revenue service with a sub'd aircraft? That will cost a bit! Dont get me wrong, vintage aircraft can be commercial viable but I think this kind of operation will break beyond that point?
I think someone might be mixing business with emotion here.
