Not sure about cats, but it can't be far off dogs, which is what i'm dealing with importing. Its quite flexible actually, certain medical standards of fitness must be met (ie rabies shots, certificates of health from accredited vet etc.) then teh appropriate paperwork filed with th authorities. After you get the animal into the country, its a 30 day home quarantine with regular vet checkups. The hardest part is getting your import application approved and back to you in a timely manner.
