So they did a few summers ago.
I snapped one of their 757s at ABZ,very smart(believe the A310 put in an occasional appearance, but never their TriStars sadly).
Problem is the route, along with the likes of Air Scotland, launched services at a time of a downturn in the region's fortunes due to a low oil price at the time, which meant services were not viable.
With high oil prices, oil activity in the N.Sea/Atlantic margin is on the upturn,& is expected to continue for the forseeable future, with oil prices expected to remain high(one man's meat, another man's poison with high oil prices!)
On that basis, plus continued marketing to attract INBOUND tourist/leisure traffic to the ABZ area(golf/whisky/castles etc),this may help diversify the region & attract more pax to ABZ flights.
Time will tell of course,as will any fluctuations in oil prices!
