FAA ATP 80 conversion test to JAA?

dear all, if anyone can help me with this id much appreciate it. i currently have around 2000hrs in the 737-200 and am thinking of coming back to europe for family reasons. i was speaking to a friend of mine in the uk who told me that if i have 500hrs on type then im exempt from an mcc course and if i have 1500 hrs on type i am exempt from doing 14 writtens, just an 80 question conversion exam and a check ride. can anyone out there tell me how accurate this is. also i heard from another mate that if you have 3000hrs on type you get a national JAA licence but that its not necessaiy accepted by other member states unless you re-validate in those other countries. is any of this accurate??
