I think you need to read my first post before posting. I said that my gripe is with a certain operator, who shall remain nameless at this stage, a husband and wife operation who nominate each other for community based awards and then blow out their chests saying that they sare so much better than everyone else.
I know Dan very very well and was with them last week when they launched the Koala. The difference with his award, which was well deserved, is that it was from his peers, in the form of HAI. If it is a legitimate award then hey I am all for it. But there are a few operators that get these comminity mom and pop awards and make it seem like they are the be all and end all of the helo industry.
Hell I have flown with the guys from VicPol, Helimed at Taralgon and the RAAF SAR guys and many of them deserve awards for what they do. Dont get me wrong I support the awards recognition as long as it is justified, but I dont support the ones who source them just to boost the egos.
