and the answers are:
1. yes and no. it will help you get a job with an airline, but it wont guarantee you a job. but it's better if you apply with a CPL/IR already in hand. it'll save the airline time and money.

and the rest:[i'm guessing the plane is a 737] (bare in mind i don't fly a 737, just from the knowledge i have gained in my time with the airlines)

1. the height would be Flight level 300- which is equilavent to about 30'000 ft
or Flight level 320, ~ 32'000ft - following the semicircular rule, for flight heading west. the best typical altitude for 737 is about 30'000~33'000ft. and the speed would be mach 0.79, which i think is the best typical crusing speed, or it might even be the Vmo of the a/c.. so i'm not too sure. bare in mind i don't fly a 737, so this is pretty much from what i've seen or heard or read before.

2. the 737 does not have an autoland feature (which is usually on the bigger jets). so, the autopilot is used all the way along the approach until maybe about 1000~500 feet, then manual flying will be done until landing.

3. well, i'm not too sure, about this one. never read a 737 SOP before, so i have no idea.

4. ah.. this is an easy one. if they had to divert from kch, the they'd probably go to sibu, bintulu, or miri... all these airfields are very near kuching.
