I've been at EFLGW for nearly 8 yrs now and I've had a fantastic time.

I've had the chance to transfer many times to EFLHR but when you get a bit older you soon realise that money does not make you happy and if it isn't broken...why try to fix it?

It's witout doubt the most friendly base with the youngest crew and with the best social life both in and out of work. If you ask anyone who has worked here you will get the same response as well.

You will work hard, but that's the same wherever you go in one way or another.

Promotion opportunities at EFLGW come up very quickly usually as well so there are opportunities to increase your wage packet if you work hard and keep your nose clean.

I'm also a trainer at EFLGW and I've seen the board and know all 3 of your trainers and know you are going to have a great laugh. Make no mistake though it will be tough and relax or take your foot off the gas too soon and you'll find yourself one step from the door (it's a lot tougher now than it used to be!).

As for the midfleet thing, it's vital it happens basically if we are to become seriously profitable at LGW. I can tell you that the company has spent plenty of cash on this project already and employed a dedicated person to oversee it, which shows how serious they are about it.

One union is for it, the other is opposing it. But at the end of the day as long as fortress LHR is protected. I think they will have to cave in or the company will turn their cost cutting guns on LHR sooner than the crew there would like.

Lastly don't forget Mr Walsh is joining us and he's going to be looking for a cost cutting victory at the start of his BA career, this would be a nice little feather in his cap if he saves the company £12 million a year in his first 6 months.

That will also mean more cash for LGW crew, so if you ask me (this is all my opinion) I reckon it will happen one way or another.

Good luck anyway and enjoy the course and your job and I look forward to seeing you on line
