Funny, I was actually taken when I was young (15) to Pattaya. My younger sister and I had a lot of fun. We spent the summer in Bangkok and Chaing Mai, then went for a weekend.
At the time, being a young teenager in the early 80's, (maybe I was naive), but really didn't notice a lot of what was going on. There weren't too many hookers on the water slides, if ya know what I mean. It may be quite different now, but as i said, we enjoyed it quite a bit.
The relative that took my sister and I on vacation that summer is a native Thai, so maybe he knew what to steer us away from. ???
