Today is the anniversary of HMS
Coventry being sunk and bombed in 1982, and MV
Atlantic Conveyor being hit by an air launched Exocet, her loss causing the loss of many helicopters and much else. AEW and more CAPs (and a better understanding of how to use fighter aircraft as part of a task force) would have prevented both losses.
