Just an update for whoever is interested!. . It's will probably just get taken over to "airmech" like all the rest of the stuff we start here......
Anyway, Ryanair have officially started their own maintenance company... "SAMS" . .'Stansted Aircraft Maintenance Services.'
Parent company is Ryanair, they will be running the show.. . They have already offered in writting a number of position to Fls line blokes at Stansted, quite a lot had interviews and most got offers.. . The start date is April-08-2002. .Only Licence personnel and ones mainly with the 737-200&800 series. are offered full positions.... .(initally on a ONE year contract). .Then they will supplement them with 'contractors' labour for mechanic position.
There is more in the pot that I will add in time.
Unlike the total miss-information over on 'airmech'. Ryanair are not trying to get a Temp hangar like Easy at Luton. Stansted is a proper airport and will not have that, nor are they putting up a shed for Ryanair. . . Ryanair is also looking at pulling out of the Fls hangar contract as well, but are very bright and are presently searching Europe for someone else to Rip off and takeover.......and are also getting their 2 euros worth by trying to get all the 200's through their heavy checks first as to totally bury Fls, very clever.
There will be many hard days ahead for Ryanair and their new way foward.. . . . Fls will unfortunatly have to trim back abit, staff wise etc, but I believe the end result will be better as Ryanair is a major factor in Fls current situation...
One last thing I must say, Ryanair has some serious balls I say, would you believe Ryanair was carring out their interviews for their new company in Fls headquaters, Inside the diamond hangar...... interviewing Fls staff etc.. . "How low is that...?". ."Imagine going for an interview for ANOTHER COMPANY at your place of work under the nose of your bosses!. . Believe me it gets better!
