What have the ALAE actually achieved over the last 10 years?. .. .Have they stopped JAR 66 forced upon us?. .. .Have they done anything to increase the pay or recognition of LAEs?. .. .Done anything to stop the deskilling of the job by allowing BA & others by use of RMA etc to save having to employ LAEs & so keep wages down?. .. .What of the aims & objectives of the ALAE have been achieved? . .. .All colleagues and I see is a magazine with lots of hot air, letters to the CAA (which have achieved nothing). We finally get the minutes of the 2001 AGM in the issue before the 2002 AGM. AGM - Lots of elections of officers to attend lots of committees & meeting but to what end? A page in the magazine on how the latest meeting went. . .. .What does the ALAE actually do for the LAE? . .. .I have been asked this by people I have tried to get to join but unfortunately I cannot answer as I do not know. . .. .Is there anyone who can help explain what the advantages of joining the ALAE are?
