The long term effects of working conditions, including shift work, are part of the study. Up until now the effects of working conditions on health have focussed on such obviously hazardous industries as coal mining, chemicals and steel production. With Health and Safety at Work Legislation more or less covered as far as the obvious hazards are concerned, more attention is finally being paid to Human Factors and disturbed diurnal patterns.
